The Atlantic coast with its glorious beaches is from only 30 minutes, then you can choose from miles of sandy coastline, varying from pure sand at La Faute sur Mer, to the sand and rockpools of St Vincent sur Jard and Jard sur Mer. Body boarding can be enjoyed at beaches near La Tranche. Surf just north of Les Sables or take a full day out and visit La Côte Sauvage. Beaches for all tastes and ages, most with the EEC blue flag for cleanliness. The famous port of La Rochelle is about 40 minutes, a lovely place eat, shop, visit the wealth of museums or just wonder around. In the summer buskers bring the town alive in the evenings.
